"You have to take individuals such as her as significant, even if you may not want to take them literally," said a Democratic strategist, who served in the Biden administration.

"It was evident how in the last election cycle the former president utilized that ecosystem to spread his narrative. Certainly that sphere spreads and shapes conversation abroad. It seems relatively clear to me that the conditions in the United Kingdom are akin to what enabled this alternative media ecosystem to flourish in America."

Alan Finlayson, said the online conservative ecosystem was already exerting influence in Britain.

"The internet transcends national boundaries," he stated. "There's a kind milieu within which ideas travel – at times appearing in harsh versions and other times more moderately – but which is interlinked."

Hinton said the expansion of the online right in the United Kingdom in recent times meant the "chance to have a growing impact is substantial."
